OI-6900 Non-Explosion Proof Dual Battery Powered WireFree Sensor Assembly

The Otis Instruments WireFree Non-Explosion-Proof OI-6900 Series Ambient Air Toxic Gas Detector is a wireless, dual battery-powered assembly that uses an electrochemical sensor element to detect a variety of toxic gases. The device also has a 2-year battery life with endless gas type sensors. Magnetic switches allow for non-intrusive calibration and system setup while in the field.

The OI-6900 continuously monitors the gas level of the surrounding environment and reports once a minute (the reporting rate will increase to once every five seconds when the detected gas is above the Background Gas Set-point). This set-point is adjustable to account for sites that may have a constant low level of gas always present. The display screen always shows the present gas concentration.

The instrument has an operating voltage of 3.6 V (19 Ah each, 38 Ah total) lithium-thionyl (Li-SOCl2) battery with a non-rechargeable connector. The RF connection is an external N-female, possesses a radio configuration of Gen II 900 MHz or Gen II 2.4 GHz, and a Tamb temperature range is -40°C to +70°C. There are 52 networks available for the Gen II 900 MHz and 78 networks for the Gen II 2.4 GHz, with both maintaining 255 addresses per network.

The display screen is a 102×64 resolution graphical LCD screen with a transflective (sunlight readable) screen and a LED backlight. The device’s interface is a 3 push-button system containing MENU, ADD, and SUB options as well as 3 magnetic non-intrusive switches for calibration. A customizable setting featured for this device is an adjustable background gas setting from 1-10% of full scale with a non-explosion proof enclosure. The maximum dimensions with attachments for this product are 15.76 in. length x 5.11 in. width x 5.37 in. height.
