Prosoind SAS Chooses Otis Instrument’s NOTIS Quad to Provide Continuous and Reliable Detection of Toxic Gases to Their Clients

Prosoind SAS offers clients with industrial safety needs control and measurement solutions products that take into account their specific application requirements while adhering to the strictest quality standards and regulations. To achieve this, they must rely on excellent strategic relationships with manufacturers of innovative products, such as Otis Instruments.

Primarily offering solutions regarding elements, instrumentation, and calibration services in matters of safety and industrial hygiene, occupational health, environment, special projects, and industrial measurements, Prosoind SAS values the complete satisfaction of their clients in delivering adequate products and services at all times and with high quality standards.

Prosoind SAS serves a vast array of clients within the energy sector who are concerned about the control of toxic and combustible gases within their applications–and the impact that these gases can have on their workers. When a client was looking for gas detection solutions for their operations, they stated a gas detection solution that can have two simultaneous sensors (H2S and %LEL) would be ideal. The client also wanted a solution that was easy to install and quick to transport since their activities require movement through different territories. Given these specifications, Prosoind SAS recommended the NOTIS Quad by Otis Instruments.

The NOTIS Quad is a battery-powered explosion proof 4-gas sensor assembly that simultaneously uses up to four sensors – electrochemical and/or low-power Infrared – for sensing an array of toxic gases in ambient air. The instrument comes standard with a 160×104 graphical LCD screen, four-button interface, non-intrusive switches, and one radio (900 MHz or 2.4 GHz). This device is field-adjustable for background gas, and addressable to eliminate interference with other systems. The Notis Quad is designed to be self-contained, to last for up to 6 months using a 3.6V 76 amp hour battery-pack, and to reject EMI and other forms of interference in order to avoid false gas readings.

When considering the abilities of the Notis Quad from Otis Instruments compared to other detection solutions currently available on the market, Prosoind SAS commented that the instrument has a quick manufacturing response, with excellent after-sales service. The NOTIS Quad is also very easy to use for their customers, making their operators feel very comfortable handling the instrument. The implementation of the device was based on the control of two critical areas for Prosoind SAS’s clients, which are the generation of H2S and %LEL. The client determined that by adding a fixed gas detection system that could monitor both, risks would be mitigated in different areas throughout the plant, such as operations, refinery and fuel loading, as both visual and audible alarms will be activated when the atmosphere exceeds TLV limits.

Once the NOTIS Quad was implemented, the client experienced a positive impact on the security and operations of the project, feeling safer in their operations. Most importantly, when there is a presence of gas, managers and workers can rest easy knowing the NOTIS Quad will activate its alarms to initiate evacuation protocols during gas leaks and other unsafe conditions.
